The Football (or Soccer, as we call it) World Cup has been hosted by different countries since 1930, but the 2010 World Cup will be
the first time in history that it has been hosted by an African country!
We in South Africa are so proud and privileged to be
the country elected to represent the African continent and are busying ourselves with preparations to ensure that come 2010, we will be
ready with world class football stadiums, infrastructure, and accommodation...
You can view the 2010 Cup Match schedule here.
There will be thirteen European teams, five Asian & Oceania teams, eight American, and Caribbean teams, and six African teams,
South Africa being one of them.
There will be 10 stadiums in all. 5 existing stadiums are being renovated, and 5 built from the ground up. Look to the right of the page for more details on these South African football stadiums.
3 million tickets will be available in all, 1 million of which will be set aside for South African Football supporters, another 1 million
set aside for International football supports, and a further million set aside for sponsors, teams and the Fifa family.
If you don't manage to get tickets, and feel like a holiday anyway, it's worth making the trip. South African's by nature 'soccer crazy',
so the vibe will be electric, and you are guaranteed to find pubs and sports bars with LCD and plasma screens full of supporters with
their 'vuvuzelas'!

In South Africa you can hire a car, 4x4 or motorbike, and we travel on the left hand side of the road.
For public transport, you could hire a taxi, minibus taxi, bus or plane. A bullet train, called the 'Gautrain' is being built in
Gauteng that will hopefully be ready for 2010. As for accommodation...well that's why you're here!
Once you've decided on the date, city and type of accommodation you would like, fill in our booking form and we will find accommodation for you
at the best possible price.
